Many of the world's greatest composers have set the text to stirring compositions. Dr. Thrower tried his hand at this as well; with the potent words in mind this setting is purely instrumental for brass quintet. The phrases and rhythms are designed to eventually be adapted to choir with brass quintet accompaniment. Without choir, this setting works extremely well as prelude, postlude, during offertory or communion in a church service, or even as a featured piece in a concert. When possible trumpeters should play flugelhorns, and even better if the trombonist is up for euphonium.
